Annapolis Green thinks globally and acts locally. We strive to make our vision, a Greater Annapolis community that shares responsibility for a healthy environment and works together for positive change, a reality every day.
The Annapolis Green was the brainchild of Elvia Thompson & Lynne Forsman. Lynne Forsman founded Green Drinks Annapolis in 2006 as a way to bring like-minded people together to learn from one another in a casual, social manner. Simultaneously, Elvia Thompson launched annapolisgreen.com as a way to share information online. The synergy of these two tracks came together in 2007 resulting in a growing community following and programs that have a positive impact on the community, bringing awareness to environmental issues and providing a path for taking action. We obtained our 501c3 status in 2017.
We believe that this vision can only be accomplished through partnerships and grassroots support that involve not only environmentally minded residents, but also the business community, other non-profits, and government officials. We all breathe the same air and drink the same water; together we can live in a prosperous, thriving society cares for the environment, lives more responsibly, and creates a more beautiful, thriving community.
Annapolis Green’s mission is to connect, inform, and inspire Annapolis residents, organizations, and businesses to care for the environment, live more responsibly and create a more beautiful and thriving community. Join us in taking action.
